Voice, the social media platform of EOS creator Block.One, announced that it will be launched on July 4th.
According to a tweet posted by Voice’s CEO, Salah Zalatimo, on June 6, the social media platform will be available to readers on U.S. Independence Day, and only registered users will be able to post content or participate online.

“We had been building towards a great revelation this fall,” said Zalatimo, “but, we simply cannot wait any longer. We have to take back the social aspect of great technology NOW.”
The platform has been in beta testing since February 14. The CEO said the registration will remain until August 15, when Voice users can start inviting their friends.
Ready to monetize social media
Since the company responsible for the EOSIO protocol (EOS) announced that it would be developing a social media platform based on block chains in June 2019, Block.One has invested $100 million in cash and $50 million in intellectual property in Voice. In addition, the company purchased the domain name voice.com for $30 million.

Cointelegraph reported Bitcoin Code obtained a patent for a block chain-based bidding system for promotional exposure linked to popular social media outlets. The patent is likely to be implemented in Voice.
However, despite being a cryptomone-driven platform, Voice has been criticized on privacy grounds. All members will have their identities verified, with some metadata used to “prevent and detect crime.
